About us
As a couple who simply loves mountains and hiking, we always try to escape into nature and take on long-distance trails. It's not about tackling huge challenges but about enjoying the simple pleasure of being surrounded by the beauty of the great outdoors. From leisurely strolls through forested paths to more strenuous climbs up rocky peaks, we appreciate the diverse experiences that hiking in the mountains offers. It's our way of unwinding, spending quality time together, and staying active in a setting that never fails to inspire us.
In order to enjoy the mountains to the fullest, we try to camp as much as possible. We spend a lot of time researching where it’s possible to pitch a tent and what are the requirements. We respect nature and we want to hike in a responsible way that doesn’t leave a trace.

Laura Eronen
I've been exploring the mountains around the world since 2016. I grew up in Finland where there were no mountains to be found, but while traveling around Latin America I discovered my passion for hiking. Since then, I've been doing solo adventures for example in Patagonia, the Alps and the Pyrenees.
Nowadays you can find me camping and hiking with Julio, but at times when Julio is too busy training for an Ironman, I'll take a hike by myself!
Julio Almeida
I've always been passionate about the outdoors, sports, and nature. I grew up in a valley in Brazil, near Itatiaia National Park, the first ever established in the country. The mountains were always calling, but it wasn't until I moved to Europe in 2017 that I discovered the world of long-distance hiking.
With over 15 years of experience as a web developer, I bring that geeky side of me to Take a Hike, building interactive tools and resources to help others plan their own adventures.
